Track Season

Summer encouraging everyone on with her huge smile.

Summer with her coach Ms. Cuppage
This spring Summer and Joshua signed up for the Special Olympics track team.  Joshua didn't like it so much and wouldn't go after the first practice.  Summer on the other hand loved it and decided to volunteer even though Joshua bailed out.  She loved going every week and supporting the athletes and making new friends.  She really enjoyed spending extra time with her coach Ms. Cuppage who also happens to be her PE teacher at school.  Summer is a sweetheart!
In English this year her class voted Summer as the person most likely to donate to a charity and adopt 10 kids.

Getting ready for the 400m
Jacob decided to try track and field.
Jacob is super cordinated, but is not a lover of sports.  He doesn't like competition.
After hearing him tell me how he plays tag every recess and watching him run around in the backyard all the time.  I talked him into trying track.
He really enjoyed it.
He competed in the Hershey Track meet in the 400M, 100M, and standing long jump.
He was pretty nervous, but after his first event, he was at ease and had a great time.
He's looking forward to running again next year.
