New Year's in Flagstaff

The one cool thing about living in Gilbert, AZ is that you can drive just 2 1/2 hours north to Flagstaff and chose when you want to enjoy winter.  We decided to spend a few days before New Years and get our snow fix.

We left 70 degree weather and entered 13 degree weather.  (Did you know you can't find winter coats in Phoenix?)  We had a blast even though our toes and fingers went numb.  Taylor, Jacob, and Kate even tried skiing with Andy.  They loved it.  We had a wonderful few days playing in a winter wonderland and snuggling in our warm and cozy hotel.  We planned our trip just right.  Many people got stuck in Flagstaff because of snow storms.  We were already planning on being "stuck"  and enjoying all the fun snow.

We love vacationing as a family.  We always have the best times.  And seriously this is the best stage to travel as a family.  When we got home after over less than a 3 hour drive, Kate announced, "That was a short drive!"  Wow!  That's never been said before.
