Ball+Joshua+Smile=Amazing!

Joshua is either really independent or completely dependent.  He doesn't have a lot of middle ground.
Sports have been a challenge for Joshua because he thinks he should be able to do everything without making a mistake.
For example- If he puts a mitt on, he thinks he should be able to catch a ball, all by himself, every time, and he doesn't want you to show him how to catch the ball or help him catch it.
Every time we play, he has requested (yelled) that he can do it by himself and doesn't need to be taught.
There is much frustration and tears when he is unable to do it.
It is very sad.
The other night Andy poked in the kitchen and said, "Come here."
Taylor and Joshua were throwing and catching a nerf football in the living room.
Joshua was doing it and if he missed he said,"Oh I missed.  That's okay."
I think he learned that in PE.
Well to see Joshua playing a sport and actually smiling made us all excited.
Everyone got in on the fun.
I didn't even care it was in the living room.
We were just all glad to see Joshua with a ball and a smile.
It was amazing!
