Spring Break!

Wind Caves Hike

Well this year for Spring Break the kids wanted to stay home.
No traveling for them.
We gave them some fun options (I mean nothing too exotic), but the majority opted for a relaxing week at home.
Now the kids know that if we are at home, it means more fun, but also more work.
So we did our extra chores and then had hours and hours to relax and play.
Here are some of the highlights-------------
Summer and Taylor in BRACES
Taylor got BRACES (and headgear-UGH!).
We had a tootsie roll and laffy taffy party the night before (sorry Summer).
We played at the park with all of our cute little cousisns.
Had a picnic at the park with Gma and Gpa Cardon.
We just loved, loved, loved the 70 and 80 degree weather.
AZ really is the place to be for Spring Break.
We finished up the Harry Potter DVD series which we started in January (we've been watching a little every Sunday night).
Summer helped me at work and earned some dough.
Then we went shopping for shorts and spring time shirts.

And of course we had to get a hike in there.
We did the Wind Cave hike in the morning
And ate shaved ice at Bahama Bucks in the afternoon.
Can you tell who enjoyed the hike the most?
I absolutely loved it and everyone else was a good sport to come along (Did they have a choice?)
We read lots of books.
Sweated and burned calories playing Just Dance 2.
The kids went ice skating with Dad, minus Joshua, who joined me on errands and a delightful stop at
Barnes and Noble.
We walked to the gas station to spend our allowance on candy.
Most nights we ate dinner at 7pm.

We ended our week with a cookout in the backyard,
Roasting hot dogs and smores.
I was the last one inside because no one can eat more smores than me, and I was just enjoying the the calmness before the craziness began once again.
It was the most relaxing week at home ever.
It made us all excited for summer break, but not quite yet.
Less than 9 more weeks of school!
