February Happenings

Wow!  I can't believe we are already into March.
A lot of great things happened in February, yet the kids are so excited for it to be March.
They can not wait for Spring Break and neither can I.
A whole week with no plans sounds heavenly to me right now.
Here is what we've been up to.
Andy, Summer, and I joined my parents, Emily, Ryan, Becky, Brian, Scott, and Megan at US Airways for the exciting concert put on by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, celebrating Arizona's 100th birthday.
It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have watched those talented folks numbers of times on TV, but to see them in person was truly an experience I will never forget.
We loved the spiritual songs and Summer and I really enjoyed the show tunes.
I was overwhelmed by their talent and the incredible spirit they bring with them.
(Plus we got to eat treats since it was at a basketball stadium.)
It was a wonderful evening and I am so grateful I got to experience it with my family.
Thanks mom and dad!
"A Swan" by Jacob Maxfield

Jacob also wowed us this month by having his artwork selected to be displayed at the Gilbert District Office.  He was one out of 5 from his school.  The hallways of the building were decorated with artwork from children all over the district.  I am always amazed by how artistically talented my children are, because I can't draw very well at all.  Jacob was really excited about it and I think he did a beautiful job, especially it being water colors.

And of course Valentine's Day was a highlight of our February.  The kids think of it as another CANDY holiday and of course they were showered in love with lots of chocolate.  Andy hid lots of these-------> around the house for me to find with little messages on the back.  Every time I found one of these valentines it made me smile and it actually took me a few days to find them all.  I have a very observant husband who seems to know what I do all day.  Andy is so loving and I was grateful for all the nice things he told me.  Sometimes a girl just has to be told how wonderful she really is.  We ended the day with homemade meatballs and spaghetti (thanks for the recipe Andrew), a visit from Gma and Gpa Cardon, and the best homemade heart sugar cookies ever.
It was a LOVELY day!
Over Presidents Day we were so excited to have our Cardon family from Utah come to visit.
It was so fun to spend time with Andrew, Michelle, Drew, Braeden, and Rachael, especially since we just barely saw them in December.
Of course we spent as much time as possible outside-park,park,and more parks.
The kids loved playing with the cousins and I loved holding all the babies.
I am selfish and miss living close to those folks.
Can't we all just live in the same place?!
Kate, Addison, and Grandma
And we ended the month with the best gift of all--  Addison Paula Ferrell.
She is a beauty and the strongest and most alert baby I have ever encountered.
The Maxfields love being an aunt, uncle, and older cousin to all of these precious babies.

Springtime is definitely in the air in Gilbert, Arizona.
And we are loving this time of year!
