They are so cute and were great for the Utah winter.
They still fit her this last winter and even though there is no snow here, she wore them all the time.
Fine. It was winter even if it was 60 degrees.
Well this summer she decided the boots needed to come out again (EEK they still fit!) and wear them to church "Because its so cold in our church."
Sundress with a sweater and furry boots.
One day she will be mortified by this!
As many of you know I don't fight about clothes or hair as long as it is modest/combed.
Luckily 2 weeks ago we found some cute white flats that she feels are appropriate for church.
I'm sure the rest of the ward feels the same.
Although the boots are out of the Sunday wardrobe choices, they are a staple for her school attire.
That's right.
My cute little first grader is wearing plaid shorts, blue shirt, and pink fluffy boots to school today and it's only going to be 108 degrees.
She assures me that her PE teacher will still let her participate today because she can run just fine in her boots.
I'm just glad I can laugh about this now as well as later.
But I am hoping that one of these days her feet will actually grow or that those boots will acquire enough sweat from her feet, that they will start smelling and then we can throw them out.
I've enjoyed all your posts! Fun vacations, birthdays, tea party, camp....what fun! I agree that summer has gone by too fast. I love Kate's footwear! Kyler has worn one green flip-flop and one turquoise flip-flop to church, but that doesn't top the sombrero he wore one day! Many people came up to me and confided that they had NEVER seen someone wear a sombrero to church before....and they loved it!!! (did I mention they were all empty-nesters)
ReplyDeleteThat girl has always had a keen fashion sense! I love all of the pictures of your fun weekend. I think a ditch day is important for brain development! Miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteI love that girl. Maryn is in the same phase, but with rain boots. Nothing like rubber on bare skin in 110 degrees.
ReplyDeletehahaha Oh Kate...that little diva cracks me up! She certainly has her own sense of style and I love her for it! I will never forget my surprise when I watched them for the weekend and saw Kate come out ready for church in her pink boots, sunglasses and purse on her shoulder. Is she six or 16? hahaha
