I can't believe it!
Where has the time gone?!
We are excited for summertime.
It is one of our favorite times of the year.
More time with the kids and more chaos.
If we survive the first 2 weeks of togetherness without killing each other, then we are good to go.
Can't wait to see what this summer brings.
Here is what we have been up to in May-
JACOB
Jacob played basketball. He was speedy on the court.
Knew how to do a mean screen.
Always stuck to his guy on defense.
Learned a lot about basketball.
Had an extremely fun time!
JOSHUA
Joshua lost another tooth.Or should I say Joshua had another tooth knocked out of his mouth.
This poor boy has had 5 teeth yanked out of his mouth.
The first top 2 by the dentist because they were fused and then rotting.
The bottom 2 by his brothers because they were rough housing and somehow Taylor's belt got stuck on Joshua's bottom teeth and then were pulled out.
His big top tooth was barely loose.
We were excited because that means his big teeth are ready to grow in on the top.
He was bouncing in the bounce house at the lovely free family gathering at Augusta Ranch Golf Club.
He was bouncing high and holding on to the mesh on the side.
Smiling as big as he could.
Having a grand old time.
As I watched him grasp the mesh I thought-
"His face is awful close to that mesh. His tooth might get caught on there."
Instantly it did.
Yanked the tooth right out.
Blood.
Instant screaming.
No tissue and no husband.
Ran to the food table to grab napkins leaving my screaming son behind because he wouldn't move.
Got him to the blanket and layed him down.
Stopped the bleeding.
JOE JOE'S ice cream from Trader Joe's numbed the pain and made everything better.
Cute toothless grin returned by the next morning.
KATE
Spring Dance Recital for Kate.
Performed gracefully to Second Star to the Right.
Knows how to do a dancer's pose without any suggestions from Mom.
Boogied to Josie and the Pussycats with cat ears and yellow furry tail.
Sang at the top of her lungs for that number.
Killer kicks and a smile to match.
Kate is a born dancer and loves everything about practicing and performing dance.
Love her teacher Mrs. Michelle.
She teaches dance in her garage.
We pay $30/month for her expertise.
She designs and makes the costumes costing us only $35 for 2 costumes.
She charges nothing for the recitals besides the costumes.
And she serves cookies and punch.
She loves kids and loves to dance.
We love Mrs. Michelle and all that she has done for Kate.
I am positive Kate will dance away the summer waiting (with many tears) for dance lessons to resume in the fall.
TAYLOR
Taylor waiting with Gpa Cardon ever so patiently for Kate's dance recital to end.
He much rather be playing the flute in a band concert, than clapping for a bunch of girly girls in costumes.
He much rather be playing the flute in a band concert, than clapping for a bunch of girly girls in costumes.
He's waiting for the week to end.
For 5th grade to be over with.
For summer to begin.
Waiting for more freedom with his time.
Or so he thinks.
SUMMER
Summer says that there aren't enough blog entries about her.
I took her picture.
She told me to write that she was doing NOTHING in her life.
Not true.
Sometimes her life is slower than other times.
The last 2 weeks she has been partying, playing, babysitting, gift making, scrapbooking, and pretzel making, besides her normal activities.
She's not looking forward to finals.
She wants to play during the last week of school like you do in the elementary days.
She is growing up and counting down the days to summer like the rest of us.
We are all voting for Summer to be the daily snack maker during summer break.
She rocks at baking and is pretty good with the clean up too.
Oh yeah! We are so ready and excited for summer!
Wow, you're kids have grown up so much!! I still have 3 weeks left (would of been 4 weeks but we have a furlough week). Have fun this summer and see you in July!!
