1 Year From Groundbreaking

The Gilbert Temple Site
It has been one year ago this month since the groundbreaking of the Gilbert Temple.
We decided to go check it out.
Honestly my kids weren't very impressed with it.
They thought more would be completed after a year.
"It looks really small."  was Taylor's comment.
But as we went inside the construction trailer, where they could see more about what it would look like, they became a bit more interested.
And they all are very excited to see the completed temple.
This was definitely a temple week.
To prepare for Stake Conference, Summer and Taylor both got to do Baptisms this week and I was able to do an Endowment Session.
Then on Saturday night the 3 of us were able to do Baptisms with the Cardon family.
Thanks to Uncle Kirk, we were able to perform the work for ancestors on Mita's side of the family.
French folks.
The really cool thing was, there were 3 women with the last name "Christin".
My parents had no idea that my name and spelling was actually came from family.
It was a heavenly experience and so fun to be in the temple with family, especially with my 2 sweet children.
And the Nielson's custard made it even more special.
The temple has been on our minds a lot this last week, and I have felt a difference in myself and in our home.
The temple brings so much peace and understanding in my life.
It gives me the "BIG PICTURE"  and helps me to focus on what I should be doing and who I want to be.
We are so blessed to have a temple just less that 20 minutes from us and then to have another temple built just less than 15 minutes from us means we are doublely blessed.
It will be exciting to watch the progression of the Gilbert temple in the next year and equally exciting to watch the spiritual growth of my own family as we strive to be worthy to enter the Lord's holy house.
